Everyone should be able to check a vehicle's history. If any part of our site is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, email support@cleancarshistory.us and we will help you get the information you need, including a report in an alternative format.
1. Our commitment
CleanCarHistory is committed to making our website and vehicle reports usable by as many people as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor, speech and cognitive disabilities. We treat accessibility as part of how we design, build and test every page, not as a separate project.
2. Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.
3. What we do
- Use semantic HTML, a logical heading structure and labeled landmarks so pages make sense to screen readers.
- Make every feature, including VIN search, checkout and report navigation, usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Provide labels, instructions and clear error messages for form fields, and announce status messages to assistive technology.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast and avoid using color as the only way to convey information, such as whether a report record is a warning.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and icons, and hide purely decorative graphics from screen readers.
- Support zoom up to 200 percent and text resizing without loss of content, and design layouts that adapt to small screens.
- Respect reduced-motion preferences and avoid content that flashes.
- Test with automated tools, keyboard-only navigation and common screen readers when we release new features.
4. Compatibility
Our site is designed to work with recent versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile, and with assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.
5. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet fully meet our standard:
- Auction and sale photos come from third-party sources and may not have detailed descriptions. The key facts they show, such as damage noted at sale, are also provided as text where available.
- Third-party checkout pages operated by our payment processors are outside our direct control, although these providers maintain their own accessibility programs.
- Printed or downloaded reports may not keep every accessibility feature of the web version. We can send a report in another format on request.
6. Feedback and assistance
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter a barrier, please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do and the browser and assistive technology you were using.
- Email: support@cleancarshistory.us
